The New Bedford Whaling Museum has launched a new book titled, “A Genius at His Trade: C. Raymond Hunt and His Remarkable Boats,” a biography by Stan Grayson, about this famed man.
Hunt’s most enduring designs, the Concordia Yawl and the original Boston Whaler, are recognized as classics of form and function.
Hunt’s development of the deep-V hull, on which he briefly held a patent, was the basis for all high-speed, mono-hull powerboats that followed.
Written by Stan Grayson with foreword by Llewellyn Howland III, the 290-page hardcover book is beautifully illustrated with vintage photography, elegant yacht designs and drawings.
