Jorge Zentner (Basavilbaso, Entre Ríos, Argentina, 1953) is an Argentine comic book writer and screenwriter, creator of the character Dieter Lumpen.

Biography

Born into a Jewish family that had immigrated to Argentina from Eastern Europe in the early 20th century.

Zentner has been interested in comics and literature since childhood. One of the authors who left a deeper imprint on him is the Argentinean born in Uruguay, Horacio Quiroga.

At the age of seventeen, he moved to the city of La Plata, capital of the province of Buenos Aires, where he worked as a journalist in the newspaper El Día and in radio stations and, for a brief time, in the bookstore and distributor of cultural magazines Dafe, but at the age of 24 (in 1977) Zentner, a sympathizer of the Peronist left, was forced into exile because of the dictatorship.
